Case study On Hamida Amin

  • Case study On Hamida Amin

Every parent’s biggest worry is always their children. We put them before everything, even ourselves, and we would do anything just to keep them safe. Our daughter is 35, and in other families, she would assist in supporting us in our old age rather than us supporting her. Unfortunately, she is abnormal, and dependent on us to look after her and this intensifies the difficulties we face even more than you can imagine. Every day is a constant battle to make sure she survives.

    We are unable to work…

Due to our age – my husband and I are both 65, and the need to stay at home in order to look after our daughter we are unable to work, and so money is very limited. My husband has a serious heart condition which also stops him from working. He gets 3000 rupees per month as a pension which is barely enough to get us by.

My daughter will be left alone…

As my husband and I are getting older now, we worry about what will happen to our daughter when we are gone. Due to his heart condition, my husband may not have much longer left and so we will no longer get his pension. Once I am gone, there is no telling what will happen to our daughter as it is very unlikely anyone will want to take care of her due to her disabilities and we cannot afford to make arrangements for her. It breaks my heart thinking that she will have no one there for her and will suffer greatly without us.

Sympathy has made a huge difference to our lives…

I provided my details to Sympathy Charity, and they did exactly what is suggested in their name – they took sympathy. They now provide us with 2000 rupees a month which is more than enough for our food, and it allows us live much more comfortably and to keep my family safe and as healthy as possible in our situation. We are now able to use my husband’s pension for other things and may be able to find future support for my daughter after we are gone. One thing I do know, is sympathy could have saved my daughters life and future and I can never thank them enough!
