Case Study On Farzana

  • Case Study On Farzana

Life has been the second name of pain and hopelessness for me, as I continue to fight from the growing tumour in my uterus. I belong from Afghanistan where I have a family and I was living a normal life, until I found out that a tumour is building up in my body. I’m recently married and my husband works in someone’s farm. It is not a very high paying job and hardly could we get a two time meal.

  • : Life has been the second name of pain and hopelessness for me, as I continue to fight from the growing tumour in my uterus. I belong from Afghanistan where I have a family and I was living a normal life, until I found out that a tumour is building up in my body. I’m recently married and my husband works in someone’s farm. It is not a very high paying job and hardly could we get a two time meal. Life was never easy for me; I was grown in low income family and even after my marriage, I came into a low income family. I’m not a working woman as women are not encouraged to work in several parts of Afghanistan. With what my husband earns, it is practically impossible to save the amount needed for my operation. The delay in its operation has further augmented it and doctors have said that the tumour has now become a 3rd degree tumour and further delay can cause a certain risk to my life.

    I sold all my belongings...

I did not want to die, I wanted to live with my family as a healthy woman, but life seems to have more hurdles for me to cross. I found out that the medical facilities available in Afghanistan are not adequate for the treatment of a severe uterus tumour and a few doctors advised me to go to Pakistan for my operation. I had given all hopes at that time, as bearing the expense of travelling and staying in Pakistan was out of a question for me. However, my husband pushed me to go to Pakistan as the last hope for getting my life back. I sold all my belongings which yielded me 30,000rupees and I was able to get to Pakistan for my operation.

I’m not considered eligible for help...

In Pakistan most of the people did not like me just for the fact that I’m an Afghan girl, as my country has a very negative image in the world. I visited several hospitals in Pakistan to find out the minimum possible cost of my operation and that turned out to be times more than what I expected it would be. The total cost, as the doctors have estimated, is nearly 175,000 Pakistan rupees, which includes 130,000 rupees for the operation cost and other 45,000 to cover follow-ups and medication.  With no means of earning and no other assets in my possession, it is nearly impossible for me to arrange such a big amount in a short span of time. In Pakistan, only the natives are given financial aid for their health issues and since I’m not a Pakistan native, I’m considered as ineligible to receive any help.Just when I was about to give up all my hopes for my health recovery and was counting on my last days, the Sympathy Charity showed me a sign of hope and life. I asked for help from several charities and by the grace of God, the Sympathy Charity accepted by application.

    I’m living a normal life...

I provided all my medical details and reports to the charity and they made the miracle happened for me. I was provided with all funds required in my operation and medication, and that is not less than a life miracle for me. Not only this, the expense of my later ultrasound was also funded by the charity. Now I’m not just alive, I’m living a normal and pain free life with my family. Thanks to Sympathy!

    Sympathy’s Note:
